Stefanie Kurgatt has certainly survived her share of stress.

First, a stress reaction (preceding stage to a stress fracture) suffered in late summer in her lower right leg has cost the Maclay senior her cross country season. Kurgatt entered as one of the state's top runners and was geared for a strong season.
